Thunder Sign Three, Cut Three After Preseason
The Oklahoma City Thunder have used end-of-preseason Exhibit 10 transactions to shape the Oklahoma City Blue’s roster, signing Dariq Whitehead, Nate Johnson and Lamar Wilkerson before waiving training-camp players Zhaire Smith, Anthony Pritchard and Andrew Holifield; those players are expected to join the G League affiliate. In a subsequent roster maneuver, Oklahoma City waived Whitehead and signed Buddy Boeheim, moves described as efforts to secure G League rights rather than add NBA rotation players. The Blue also acquired the returning rights to former No. 7 pick Killian Hayes, along with Justyn Hamilton and Babatunde Akingbola, in a trade with Cleveland. The Thunder’s remaining roster decisions may include how to handle a two-way spot after Otega Oweh suffered a season-ending Achilles injury.
