Three Zambian NWSL Players Face 21-Day Ebola Wait
Three Zambian players on NWSL teams—Barbra Banda, Racheal Kundananji and Prisca Chilufya—have been delayed from returning to the United States after playing in Uganda during Olympic qualifying, because of U.S. Ebola-related travel restrictions. The rules require travelers who have been in Uganda to wait 21 days before entering the country; the CDC extended the restrictions on Oct. 11. The NWSL says it is working with the clubs and U.S. immigration to facilitate the players’ safe return and that they are all in excellent health. Their absence comes with only two regular-season games remaining before the NWSL playoffs; Zambia advanced in the qualifying series with a 5-3 aggregate win over Uganda.
