Tesla Switches Full Self-Driving Label to Assisted Driving on European Sites

Tesla has replaced the Full Self-Driving name with Tesla Assisted Driving on its European websites after Germany’s transport ministry said the original label was somewhat misleading because drivers remain responsible and must supervise the system. Germany says Tesla proposed the rename during regulatory discussions, and the ministry will support European approval while accepting that the system may exceed posted speed limits by up to 10 percent; the EU-wide approval process remains unresolved. Slovakia also approved the system, with Tesla saying rollout there would begin soon. The reports describe the European rebrand as a change in labeling rather than a confirmed change to the software, while the Full Self-Driving name remains in use in the United States. New Zealand owners received an app notice renaming Full Self-Driving Capability to Tesla Assisted Driving Basic, though Tesla’s local website had not been updated and it was unclear whether the message was intended for them.
