Terrell Owens Urges ESPN to Suspend Stephen A. Smith

Terrell Owens says ESPN should suspend Stephen A. Smith over Smith’s remarks questioning Philadelphia Eagles tackle Lane Johnson’s decision to retire and prioritize his mental health. Smith’s comments drew widespread criticism, and he apologized publicly, including on his podcast and First Take, while discussing his own mental health struggles. Owens argued that Smith’s remarks were insensitive and that ESPN should impose consequences; the reports say the network has not announced disciplinary action. Some coverage suggests Smith’s apology may explain the lack of punishment, while others note his prominence at ESPN could factor into the network’s response.
