Tejano Singer Michael Salgado Postpones Shows After Stroke
Tejano singer and accordionist Michael Salgado says he suffered a stroke on Oct. 9 shortly after beginning a performance in Safford, Arizona. He was taken to a local hospital, airlifted to Tucson for treatment, and later returned to San Antonio, where his medical team is monitoring his recovery. On doctors’ advice, Salgado is pausing performances for the next couple of weeks, with a return dependent on medical clearance. His scheduled appearance at San Antonio’s Muertos Fest is among the events potentially affected, though organizers had not announced a decision. Salgado thanked fans for their support and said he hopes to return to the stage when it is safe.
