Tate Re-signs with Rockets for Seventh Season

The Houston Rockets have re-signed veteran forward Jae’Sean Tate to a one-year contract with a partially guaranteed deal at the veteran minimum, worth up to about $3.07 million. Tate, 30, is entering his seventh season with Houston and is the Rockets’ longest-tenured player. In 46 games last season, he averaged 11.5 points and 6.5 rebounds per 36 minutes while shooting a career-best 51.4% from the floor. The signing adds defensive depth and veteran leadership off the bench for a frontcourt featuring Jabari Smith Jr. and Tari Eason. Houston also agreed to a four-year deal for Isaiah Crawford, a move that pins the team over the luxury tax threshold and could be adjusted by waiving JD Davison to drop back under it. Together, Tate and Crawford keep the Rockets at 15 players on standard contracts as they navigate the 2026-27 roster.
