Bauers Named NLCS MVP as Brewers Sweep Dodgers
Jake Bauers won the first NLCS MVP award in Milwaukee Brewers history after helping the team sweep the Los Angeles Dodgers and reach its first World Series since 1982. He drove in six runs, including on an 11-pitch go-ahead homer off Blake Snell in Game 3, and contributed a 12-pitch walk against Yoshinobu Yamamoto and key hits and a bases-loaded walk in the clinching Game 4 comeback. The 31-year-old had considered retiring after a difficult career across multiple organizations but kept playing to support his family. He went on to hit 26 home runs during his breakout 2026 season, a turnaround that followed a brief, unproductive stint with Seattle, where manager Scott Servais had suggested a change of uniform might help.
