Colorado Air Academy Forfeits Homecoming Game

Air Academy High School will forfeit its Friday, Oct. 9, homecoming football game against Lutheran because it says it lacks enough coaches to safely field a varsity team. The school will instead hold a flag football game against The Classical Academy at 7 p.m., while other homecoming events continue. Separate reporting citing anonymous sources said Air Academy’s coaches chose to forfeit amid concerns about alleged racism and a lack of accountability for earlier incidents involving Lutheran; the district has not publicly confirmed that account. Lutheran apologized to school officials and says it is investigating the complaints, including a separate allegation connected to a game against Rampart.
