Iowa QB Brown Questionable for Washington Game
Iowa quarterback Hank Brown suffered a sprained AC joint when a defender landed on his shoulder during the Hawkeyes’ 31-14 loss to Ohio State, forcing him out in the fourth quarter. Brown said Tuesday that he is making progress and has resumed throwing, but his shoulder is not back to normal and his availability for Friday’s game against Washington remains uncertain. Coach Kirk Ferentz said Iowa cannot assume Brown will be ready, making backup Jeremy Hecklinski a strong possibility to start. Hecklinski went 5-for-5 for 67 yards and led a touchdown drive against Ohio State; he said he has stayed prepared and believes the team will be ready if called upon.
