Judge Delays Antonio Brown Plea Deal
A Miami judge postponed Antonio Brown’s plea hearing, saying she needed more time to review the agreement and was not sufficiently prepared to proceed. Brown had been expected to plead no contest to a reduced charge in a deal that would impose probation instead of prison; he faced up to 30 years if convicted of attempted second-degree murder. The case stems from a May 2025 shooting outside a celebrity boxing event, in which Brown is accused of firing at Zul-Qarnain Kwame Nantambu. Brown has said he acted in self-defense, and Nantambu has reportedly forgiven him and supports resolving the case. Brown’s attorney said they remain optimistic the judge will accept the negotiated deal; Brown is due back in court Oct. 28.
