West Virginia Upsets No. 25 Virginia 38-27

Michael Hawkins Jr. accounted for 313 total yards and five touchdowns as West Virginia beat No. 25 Virginia 38-27 in the Duke's Mayo Classic at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, N.C. Hawkins completed 10 of 17 passes for 190 yards and two touchdowns and ran 18 times for 123 yards and three touchdowns. D.J. Epps caught both touchdown passes, finishing with three receptions for 92 yards, and Cam Cook rushed for 123 yards. West Virginia's total offense exceeded 430 yards. The Mountaineers improved to 3-0 for their first win over a ranked nonconference opponent since 2021; Virginia fell to 2-1. Hawkins started five games at Oklahoma before transferring to West Virginia in January. Hawkins scored two rushing touchdowns and a passing touchdown in the first half.
