Second Fire Hits Birmingham Apartment Complex in Two Months

A Birmingham apartment complex in the Glen Iris neighborhood was hit by another fire Wednesday evening, less than a day after crews battled a blaze there Tuesday night. Tuesday’s fire struck a vacant building that had also burned in August; firefighters contained it around midnight and stayed on scene to watch for hot spots. No injuries were reported in either fire, and the cause of the blazes remains under investigation. Neighbors expressed concern that the same building had caught fire twice in just over two months.
