SBA approves disaster loans for Aspen Acres fire recovery
The U.S. Small Business Administration approved Colorado’s request for low-interest disaster loans for people and organizations affected by the Aspen Acres Fire and subsequent burn-scar flooding in Pueblo and Custer counties. Eligible homeowners may borrow up to $500,000 for verified uninsured home damage, while homeowners and renters may seek up to $100,000 for damaged personal property; businesses and private nonprofits can apply for up to $2 million for physical damage and recovery needs. Economic Injury Disaster Loans can provide working capital to eligible small businesses, agricultural cooperatives and nonprofits unable to meet operating expenses, including in several surrounding counties. SBA outreach centers in Pueblo and Wetmore are offering application assistance.
