Sanders, Nixon Rally Thousands Across Florida

Bernie Sanders made a rare campaign swing through Florida, rallying with Democratic Senate candidate Angie Nixon in Tampa and Melbourne as part of his “Fighting Oligarchy” tour. Thousands attended the events, which aim to boost Nixon’s long-shot challenge to Republican Sen. Ashley Moody. Sanders criticized the influence of wealthy donors and urged an end to unlimited campaign spending, while Nixon focused on the cost of living and argued that Moody’s policies hurt working people. The rallies reflected progressive efforts to reach voters in a state that has grown increasingly Republican, with attendees citing housing affordability and health care as concerns.
