RSPCA Recommends Meaty Pet Food for Hedgehogs

As autumn approaches, placing shallow dishes of tinned meaty cat or dog food, along with fresh water, can attract hedgehogs to gardens and encourage repeat visits. Uneaten food should be removed and replaced daily. Gardeners should avoid giving hedgehogs milk, which can cause digestive problems, and bread, which provides little nutritional value. Leaving leaf piles and other natural shelter can also provide safe habitat for hedgehogs during hibernation.
