Regional job fairs connect seekers with employers

Job fairs in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas, and Savannah, Georgia, are offering ways for local job seekers to connect with employers. In Walnut Ridge, a fair on Oct. 20 will bring together Arkansas Workforce Connections, Lawrence Healthcare and the Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce, with a mobile workforce center providing computers, internet access and help completing applications; the Chamber is also collecting local job listings. In Savannah, Step Up Savannah and community partners held workshops on interviewing, professional etiquette and attire ahead of an Oct. 15 fair featuring full-time, part-time and apprenticeship openings, including second-chance hiring opportunities. Organizers also invited donations of professional clothing for participants.
