Ree Drummond’s Foster Son Arrested on Assault, Drug Charges
Jamar Goff, 23-year-old foster son of Food Network personality Ree Drummond and her husband Ladd, was arrested Sept. 15, 2026, around 2:30 a.m. in Birmingham, Alabama, and booked into Jefferson County Jail with bond set at $37,000. He faces charges of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, drug paraphernalia possession, attempting to elude police, and aggravated assault on a police officer. Court documents say officers responding to a suspicious-person call found him asleep and shirtless near a University of Alabama at Birmingham fountain. Goff allegedly said he was waiting to buy "ice," slang for methamphetamine. An officer initially let him go, then found an outstanding warrant. Goff fled on foot to a nearby hospital and allegedly struck an officer with an open-handed palm strike. A search found a glass pipe and 1.8 grams of methamphetamine, including in his backpack. Documents describe him as homeless at the time. Drummond has written that fostering was never something they pursued but that Goff's circumstances presented themselves in a way they could not ignore, and she later called him an inextricable part of their wacky family. In an Instagram post she said a whole universe goes on in his mind and heart and soul and that she could not wait to watch his future unfold. Contested: none found.
