Predators Beat Blues 5-2, Forsberg Ends Drought
Filip Forsberg scored his first goal of the season and added an assist as the Nashville Predators beat the St. Louis Blues 5-2 on Saturday, ending Nashville’s three-game losing streak. Forsberg’s wraparound goal in the first period put the Predators ahead after Jonathan Marchessault tied the game on a penalty shot; Adam Edstrom later scored short-handed, and Ryan O’Reilly and Jack Drury added third-period goals. Phillip Broberg and Jimmy Snuggerud scored for St. Louis, which has lost two straight. Forsberg had recorded seven assists in his first seven games, and his season-opening goal drought had begun to weigh on him, though Nashville coach Andrew Brunette said he was not concerned given the winger’s steady volume of chances.
