Poll: Fetterman More Popular With GOP Than Democrats
A Quinnipiac University poll found Pennsylvania Sen. John Fetterman viewed more favorably by Republicans than by members of his own party: 72% of Republicans had a favorable opinion of him, compared with 13% of Democrats, while 69% of Democrats viewed him unfavorably. Overall, 37% of respondents viewed Fetterman favorably and 46% unfavorably; a separate measure found 41% approved of his job performance. His standing reflects criticism from Democrats over high-profile breaks with his party, strong support for Israel, and appearances at Republican events and on Fox News, though he votes with the Democratic caucus most of the time. Fetterman has said he does not intend to become a Republican. The poll also found that Pennsylvania Republicans viewed Fetterman more favorably than Republican Sen. Dave McCormick.
