Trump to Rally for Marshall in Wichita on Oct. 19
President Donald Trump is scheduled to hold a rally in Wichita on Oct. 19 to support Republican Sen. Roger Marshall, who is seeking reelection against Democrat Adam Hamilton in a race polling as a toss-up. The rally’s venue has not been announced; doors are expected to open at 2 p.m., the program to begin at 4:30 p.m. and Trump to speak at 6 p.m. Trump praised Marshall and defended his efforts to collect unpaid medical bills, while attacking Hamilton’s politics and record as a pastor; Hamilton’s campaign said Trump was trying to distract from Marshall’s record, including his positions on health care and prices. Marshall said he needs Trump’s voters to win, and national Republican groups are spending to defend the seat. Kansas has not elected a Democratic senator since 1932.
