Judge Extends White House Access for Three Outlets
A federal judge issued a preliminary injunction requiring the Trump administration to preserve White House press access for CNN, MS NOW and Politico while their lawsuit proceeds, replacing a temporary order. Judge Timothy Kelly found the outlets likely to prevail on due-process and First Amendment claims, saying President Trump’s comments indicated the ban was retaliation for coverage he considered inaccurate or biased. Kelly rejected national-security concerns as an unsupported, after-the-fact justification, while saying the ruling did not dismiss legitimate concerns about media accuracy or protecting classified information. The administration may appeal.
