PCC Opens 17th Store in Madison Valley
PCC Community Markets has opened its 17th store in Madison Valley, Seattle, at 2925 E. Madison St., nearly a decade after signing the lease. The 24,000-square-foot grocery anchors a mixed-use development whose completion was delayed by regulatory hurdles, a dispute over the planned demolition of a nearby garden store, neighborhood opposition, the pandemic and rising costs. The co-op expects the store to employ about 75 people and offers Pacific Northwest products, including organic produce, meat and seafood, alongside freshly prepared deli items, sushi, pizza and bulk foods. PCC has also supported neighborhood events and plans to work with six local organizations on community needs, including food access and hunger relief.
