Ohio Senate Candidate Brown Would Oppose Trump Impeachment

Ohio Senate candidate Sherrod Brown says he would oppose impeaching President Donald Trump if elected, despite having voted to convict Trump after both of his first-term impeachments. Brown said there was “simply no reason” to pursue impeachment, regardless of the midterm results. His stance contrasts with House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries’ refusal to rule out impeachment if Democrats regain control of the House, while Republicans warn another effort could follow. Brown is challenging Republican Sen. Jon Husted in a closely contested race in a state Trump carried decisively in 2024.
