NFL Reverses Ruling, Clears Zxavian Harris to Sign
The NFL reversed its ruling on defensive tackle Zxavian Harris, making him eligible to visit, try out for and sign with any team as a free agent. After he was waived by the New Orleans Saints, Harris tried to return to college football at LSU, prompting the league to bar him from signing with an NFL team for the 2026 season. The NFL’s review found he had not participated in an LSU practice or game after training camps began, which under the league’s interpretation meant he had not played college football. Harris had worked out for the Green Bay Packers before the original ruling, though it is unclear whether the team will pursue him; tight end Dae’Quan Wright, who also tried to join LSU, remains ineligible with no reported change to his status.
