NFL Mandates Uniform Video Boards During Kicks
The NFL has ordered teams to use the same static image or All-22 video angle on stadium displays for both teams during field-goal and extra-point attempts. The rule change follows a viral post by former Eagles staffer Ryan Paganetti alleging that New England’s video boards showed opposing kickers a reverse view that created the appearance of a second, misaligned set of goalposts, while displaying a static image for Patriots kickers. The NFL also reiterated that displays may not include flashing images, blinking effects or moving text, and said violations will bring postgame accountability measures. The Patriots were not violating an NFL rule before the change, which takes effect ahead of the 2026 season.
