Netflix announced on Sept. 18, 2026 that Andrés Cantor will cover the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup. He is the company's first announced play-by-play voice for the event, set for June 24 to July 25, 2027 in Brazil. Netflix holds U.S. rights in English and Spanish and Canadian rights in English and French. The company's press release praised Cantor's Spanish-language calls specifically. Cantor is Argentina-born and spent 26 years with Telemundo. The 2027 tournament will be his fifth Women's World Cup. He has called every men's World Cup since 1986. He said: "For more than four decades, I've had the privilege of sharing my love for soccer with audiences around the world, and I'm incredibly excited to continue that journey with Netflix ahead of a historic summer for the sport." Contested: No contested claims found. The 2030 Men's World Cup rights are currently up for bid, and Cantor has expressed interest in working that tournament. Netflix has not fully detailed his language assignments beyond announcing Spanish-language coverage.
