NASA names Stephen Cash to end acting director period at Marshall
NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman named Stephen Cash director of Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, effective Oct. 19, ending a 13-month period with an acting director. Cash began his NASA career at Marshall in 1982, led its Space Shuttle Propulsion Office and Safety and Mission Assurance Directorate, and later held an aerospace industry executive role. He will oversee more than 5,000 civil service and contractor employees at a center central to the Artemis program, including development of the Space Launch System and management of the Human Landing System Program. NASA leaders cited his technical experience and emphasized Marshall’s workforce as the center takes on advanced propulsion and nuclear-power work; Rae Ann Meyer, who had been acting director, returns to her deputy director role.
