Monticello Farmer LaVerne Rosenstiel Dies at 85

LaVerne G. Rosenstiel, a lifelong Monticello, Wisconsin, farmer and devoted family man, died peacefully on October 3, 2026, at age 85, surrounded by his wife and children. He and his wife, Sharon, shared 63 years of marriage and raised four children, with grandchildren and great-grandchildren bringing him particular joy. Rosenstiel loved farm life, especially mowing hay and caring for animals, and enjoyed bowling, hunting, fishing, card games, and collecting Oliver toy tractors. He was also a member of the Monticello Lions Club and helped serve cheese curds at concession stands.
