Kennard's 20 points lead Suns past Spurs, 102-98
Luke Kennard is stepping into a key shooting role for the Suns after the departure of Grayson Allen, whose perimeter production over three seasons will be difficult to replace. Kennard has shown he can contribute beyond shooting during the preseason, and he made a strong case in Saturday’s 102-98 win over the Spurs, scoring 20 points with five rebounds and four assists in 25 minutes while starting for the resting Devin Booker. Phoenix coach Jordan Ott praised Kennard’s experience and playmaking, while Kennard said the team’s movement and opportunities suit his game. His role is likely to remain secondary when Booker and Jalen Green are available.
