Kansas students modify 21 mobility cars for children
High school robotics students in the Kansas City area modified seven ride-on toy cars for children with mobility challenges at the annual GoBabyGo! Community Build, tailoring supports and controls to each child’s needs. Organized with Variety KC and The Barstow School, the project gives children a chance to move and play more independently while letting students use their engineering skills to serve their community. Separately, UCF students, athletes and Orlando Health staff planned a space-themed Go Baby Go! build in Central Florida, preparing 10 customized cars for five children. UCF says its program has provided more than 220 modified cars since 2015.
