Hornets Nearing $200M Brandon Miller Extension

The Charlotte Hornets are reportedly making progress toward a rookie-scale extension for Brandon Miller, with recent reports projecting a deal worth more than $200 million and potentially around $40 million per year. Comparable contracts for young players including Franz Wagner, OG Anunoby and Amen Thompson are said to inform negotiations, though Miller’s early-career health is a consideration. Another report identifies Miller as a strong candidate to sign before the Oct. 19 deadline, but no agreement has been announced. If the sides do not reach a deal by then, Miller would become a restricted free agent next summer, and Charlotte could match an offer from another team.
