VA Approves $2.6B in Fourth-Quarter Projects
The Department of Veterans Affairs approved $2.6 billion in infrastructure projects in fiscal 2026’s fourth quarter, as part of a record $4.8 billion obligated nationwide during the year for non-recurring maintenance and facility improvements. The funding supports modernization and repairs at VA health care systems in Eastern Oklahoma, Illiana, Wilkes-Barre and West Texas; Eastern Oklahoma’s projects include elevator upgrades at facilities in Muskogee and Tulsa. Nationwide, priorities included repairing outdated infrastructure, upgrading buildings and supporting infrastructure for future electronic health record updates. VA officials said the work is intended to keep facilities safe and efficient and support high-quality veteran care.
