Horry County aide arrested after alleged punch of nonverbal autistic student

A Horry County Schools special education aide, Kristin Daly, 57, was arrested and charged after a witness alleged she punched or pushed a 6-year-old nonverbal autistic student at Pee Dee Elementary School near Conway on Sept. 25. The witness said the child stumbled backward and Daly told them, “You did not see that.” Police reports noted no visible injuries; they also said the student was known to run toward people while swinging his arms. Daly has been on administrative leave since Sept. 28 and was released on a $10,000 bond. The allegations have not been established in court.
