Grant Programs Support Community, Climate, Civics Projects
Several programs are directing grants toward community and civic initiatives. In New England, local organizations and councils can seek up to $20,000 for small projects, while High Peak’s council has awarded funding to nine groups working on environmental improvements, including recycling, biodiversity and sustainable living. In New Haven, Civic Works’ $200 micro-grants support residents organizing public activities to connect neighbors. Separately, Ball State University received a $2.7 million federal grant for a three-year effort to strengthen civic education in Indiana schools through educator training, partnerships and classroom programs.
