Figure gives F.02 robots fiery Terminator farewell in Finland

California robotics company Figure retired its F.02 humanoid robots as its newer F.03 fleet expanded, saying the older machines took up space and contained proprietary technology that would be difficult to dismantle or hand off. After Arnold Schwarzenegger suggested melting them down, Figure partnered with a foundry in Finland and trained the robots to jump into molten steel. The company said the approach helped protect its technology and keep engineers focused on newer projects, including the F.04. Schwarzenegger joined the video farewell, which recreated a scene from “Terminator 2.”
