FBI Director Kash Patel Announces Engagement to Alexis Wilkins
Alexis Wilkins raised her left hand into the black-and-white frame. She stood beside Kash Patel. Both of them were smiling. On Sunday, October 4, 2026, she posted the photograph to X.
“Went and got the law involved,” she wrote in the caption, tagging him and finishing the line with a ring emoji and a heart.
Wilkins was 27. Patel was 46. In the monochrome image she appeared in what looked like a cardigan and he in a checkered shirt, her left hand lifted against him, the large diamond held front and center. One view of the shot caught that hand against his chest. The FBI director reshared her post from his own account and answered with the same pair of emojis, ring and heart matching hers exactly.
No wedding date came with the announcement, and no account of the proposal appeared beside the ring. What followers got was the stone already on her finger, the two of them already side by side, and a joke that folded his title into the news.
They first crossed paths in 2022. The introduction happened at a conservative event connected to, or hosted by, country singer John Rich. Another calls it a friend’s house party. The two began dating in early 2023 and remained together from that point forward. When the engagement photograph went up they had been a couple for about three to three and a half years.
Kash Patel was born on February 25, 1980, in Garden City on Long Island, New York. Alexis Wilkins was born on November 3, 1988, according to one source. Differing accounts place her as from Boston or raised in Arkansas.
On the Megyn Kelly Show she said: “We just happened to meet. I have always liked [him]. When I met him, I just liked that he was so, so honest. He's exactly who he is all the time. His character is incredible. His values are incredible.”

The relationship stayed largely private through those years. Public attention found them after he became director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation in February 2025. Alexis Wilkins attended the swearing-in. Reports questioned his use of government aircraft while traveling to events where she performed. He rejected those accounts. According to The Hill, he called the reporting “fake news” and “noise from uninformed internet anarchists.”
He defended her as the criticism widened. The attacks aimed at Wilkins, he said, were “disgustingly baseless.” He called her a “conservative and a country music sensation.” The two kept appearing together. On June 14, 2026, they arrived at the White House ahead of the UFC Freedom 250 on the South Lawn.
In December 2025 MS NOW published a report claiming that Patel directed security to escort an intoxicated friend of Wilkins home after partying in Nashville. According to that account, the FBI director told the security detail protecting Wilkins to escort one of her allegedly inebriated friends home after a night of partying. Wilkins rejected the report as false. In May 2026 she filed a defamation lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee. The defendants she named were Versant, the parent company of MS NOW, and the reporters who wrote the piece, Ken Dilanian and Carol Leonnig. She sought more than $75,000 in damages.
Lawyers for Wilkins laid the falsehoods out in the complaint. “Defendants falsely asserted that Ms. Wilkins demanded, and Director Patel ordered, that federal agents assigned to her security detail — which did not even exist at the time — escort an intoxicated friend home after a 'night of partying'.” The complaint then turned to how the report had described Wilkins herself. “They falsely portrayed Ms. Wilkins as being intoxicated even knowing that she does not drink.”
Attorneys for Versant have asked that court to dismiss the case or transfer it out of Tennessee. The action remains open.
She has kept working the country circuit that made her name. Her debut album came out in 2023. The songs attached to her include Stand, Holdin’ On, Country Back, Quite Like Whiskey, and Grit. She has hosted a show on the video platform Rumble, taken turns as a commentator, and appeared in a handful of television shows and movies. She has also built large followings on Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok. Performance dates have stayed on the calendar.
One date put her in State College, Pennsylvania, for a pro wrestling event where she performed the national anthem. Patel was there with her. Afterward Wilkins posted photographs to social media. They showed the two of them, both smiling, as she held an oversized golden championship belt.
