911 Call Details Efforts to Save Hayden Panettiere

Hayden Panettiere, 36, was found unconscious and not breathing at a Greenville, South Carolina residence on Aug. 16. Zach Hickerson, brother of her on-and-off boyfriend Brian Hickerson, called 911 and performed CPR following a dispatcher’s instructions. Brian Hickerson was present and reportedly administered Narcan. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Newly released 911 audio details those efforts. The coroner ruled the death accidental, caused by the toxic effects of fentanyl and several other drugs. The disclosure has renewed attention to Panettiere’s history of addiction and to past allegations of abuse against Brian Hickerson, which he denied.
