Clive Davis Pre-Grammy Gala to Return in 2027 After His Death
The Clive Davis and Recording Academy Pre-Grammy Gala will be held Feb. 6, 2027, at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California, the evening before the 2027 Grammy Awards on Feb. 7. The Oct. 8, 2026 announcement marks the first gala since Davis died June 22, 2026, at age 94. Davis created the event in 1976 and began presenting it with the Recording Academy in 2009. He led Columbia Records, founded Arista Records, won four Grammys, entered the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2000, and had the Grammy Museum's Clive Davis Theater named for him in 2010. Artists he helped launch or develop include Whitney Houston, Janis Joplin, Bruce Springsteen, Carlos Santana, Billy Joel, Aretha Franklin, Barry Manilow and Alicia Keys. Harvey Mason Jr. said Clive built the gala into something the entire music community looked forward to for five decades, did it because he loved the community and believed in the power of music, and that it is an honor to celebrate the legacy he left behind. Mason also said he was lucky to call Clive a friend and mentor and that Davis would want the show to go on. No factual disputes appear across the rated coverage. No right-rated outlets covered the story. Performers and other details remain unannounced.
