Chad Lowe and Wife Mourn Daughter Fiona

Actor Chad Lowe and wife Kim Painter announced Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2026, that their daughter Fiona died at 13. In a joint statement to People, TMZ and other outlets they said, "We are deeply heartbroken by the loss of our beloved Fiona." They described her as a loving young girl who was smart, creative and loved to dance, said she was adored by sisters Mabel, 17, and Nixie, 10, and called her "the light of our lives." They asked for prayers and privacy and shared the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. Grandfather Charles "Chuck" Lowe posted a photo of Fiona smiling in a pool on Sept. 30 with the caption "Rest in peace, sweet Fiona." The school principal emailed parents about a student's death and offered counseling. Chad Lowe, 58, younger brother of Rob Lowe, marked Fiona turning 13 in November 2025 and spoke about being a "girl dad" on the Still Here Hollywood podcast. Their last red carpet with Fiona was the Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur premiere on Feb. 4, 2023, in Burbank. The family has not disclosed the circumstances of her death. Reports alleging suicide have not been confirmed by the family. Outlets disagree on whether the podcast remarks were in December 2025 or 2024.
