Stallone Reveals Bulimia, Steroid Use During Rocky Films

Sylvester Stallone disclosed in a New York Times interview that he became bulimic while filming Rocky III after reaching 2.6 percent body fat. He described it as an obsession where he could not hold anything down due to an obsessive body-worship kind of thing. Stallone said nobody does it without additives and drugs, detailing six-weeks-on, six-weeks-off steroid cycles that took a terrible toll. He cited Cop Land as the turning point when playing the weakest guy in the room left him feeling liberated from body pressure. The interview promotes his memoir The Steps. Stallone is 80, starred in Expendables 4, and appears in Tulsa King. Ynetnews reports he has had 14 major surgeries, including nine back surgeries and three neck fusions.
