Måneskin Singer, Dove Cameron Marry in Tuscany
Outside the Palazzo dei Priori in Montalcino, confetti showered the steps as Dove Cameron and Damiano David kissed. They had just been declared married in the civil ceremony held Thursday, September 24, 2026, at the town hall in the Val d'Orcia. The ceremony remained private, attended by about thirty relatives and close friends, while fans and onlookers gathered outside. Mayor Silvio Franceschelli gave them a commemorative magnum of Brunello di Montalcino.
Cameron, 30, wore a custom Giorgio Armani white hybrid collared blazer-style dress, and carried a bouquet of white calla lilies tied with lace. David, 27, stood in a cream suit with a champagne silk scarf and no tie. Some accounts described her look as a white suit; others held to the blazer-dress language.
They had first crossed paths at the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards, both then in the best-new-artist orbit, and nothing caught. The pivot arrived the following year. Cameron later told the story on Call Her Daddy in the plainest terms.
“He was so friendly. And then he was like, ‘Do you want to come to our show at Madison Square Garden?’ And I was like, ‘Yeah.’ And then we just started dating, and now we’re engaged.”
Sources place the start of the relationship in September or November 2023. By the Thursday they left the Priori they had been together roughly two to three years.
In October 2025, Damiano David proposed in the living room of their home in Los Angeles. He had designed the ring himself. Cameron had been packing when it happened. She was barefaced that day, her hair still damp, dressed in a big T-shirt. When she caught the look on his face she understood at once and ran into another room. She came back to the living room where he waited.
On January 3, 2026, she announced the engagement on Instagram. Photographs of the ring filled the post. She held her hand toward the camera. The caption read, “My favourite part of being alive. Happy new year.”
Allure published an interview with her on February 5, 2026. “I've never had to think about any of this stuff before,” she said. She had not carried any picture of marriage as a fixed plan. “I didn't ever know if I was going to get married. It was never one of those things that I had planned out. I didn't know what form my life was going to take. And now, I'm like a baby again.”
Cameron came out as queer during an Instagram Live in 2020. Speaking to Allure about the wedding, she framed the clothes as a design problem at the center of how she saw herself. “I'm going to have to figure out a way to design a dress that feels inclusive of the fullness of who I am,” she said. “I think it would be wrong of me to go too hard either way.” She would have regrets if they were both in suits, she explained, and the same regrets if she took the ultra-femme route. “I truly do feel split down the middle energetically between a masculine-feminine energy.” The hybrid she wore that Thursday was the answer she had planned toward.
On their two-year anniversary she posted photographs of the pair kissing in a restaurant. The caption read, “i am brought to tears at least once a week because life has become so beautiful with you in it. i love you in a way no words could ever express, but i will never stop trying. buon anniversario amore mio.”
In Vogue Italia she drew the line between what circulates and what does not. “Because of the way the internet works, people only see the big moments. I was just in Malta accepting an award, and of course those photos stay in circulation. But in between that, there were two months when we were just grocery shopping, cooking, and figuring out our new juicer.” Those stretches included time near his family in Rome. The life they described stayed largely off-camera while the public work continued in parallel: her single “When in Rome,” written around the romance built in his country, and his 2025 solo album Funny Little Fears.
A white convertible stood ready outside the Palazzo dei Priori. They smiled climbing in. The car carried them toward the hills, where the same Thursday a reception for more than two hundred guests took place at Castiglion del Bosco, the resort among the vineyards of the Val d'Orcia. Alessandra Grillo organized it. Damiano David's bandmates from Måneskin had not attended the town-hall ceremony. They were expected at the larger celebration.
