Kate Returns to Premiere After Cancer Treatment

Princess Kate attended the London world premiere of Tom Cruise’s film “Digger” with Prince William at the Odeon Luxe in Leicester Square. The charity screening supported the Film and TV Charity, which provides mental-health and financial assistance to industry workers. Kate wore a purple Jenny Packham gown, the Queen Mother’s Amethyst Sautoir Necklace—featuring amethysts, diamonds and pearls—and Princess Diana’s Collingwood pearl-and-diamond earrings. The necklace was given by Queen Alexandra to Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon in 1923 and was last publicly worn by Queen Camilla at the 2012 premiere of “Skyfall.” The event marked Kate’s first film premiere in four years and followed her cancer treatment, which she said had ended with her cancer in remission. The couple reunited with Cruise and director Alejandro González Iñárritu, while the premiere also drew Salma Hayek, Hannah Waddingham and Sandra Hüller.
