Ella Langley’s ‘Choosin’ Texas’ Sets Hot 100 Record With 23 Weeks at No. 1

On Sept. 22, 2026, Billboard confirmed Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” had spent 23 weeks at No. 1 on the Hot 100, the longest run in chart history. That total surpassed the 22 weeks held by Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You.” Released in October 2025, the song debuted on the Hot 100 dated Nov. 1, 2025 as Langley’s fifth entry, became her first top 10 in January 2026 and first hit No. 1 in February. Co-written with Luke Dick, Miranda Lambert and Joybeth Taylor, it is distributed via SAWGOD and Columbia Records and was promoted to country radio by Triple Tigers. In the Sept. 11-17 tracking week it posted 21.8 million U.S. streams, 58.3 million radio audience impressions and 6,000 sales. It also held a 23rd week at No. 1 on Streaming Songs, rose 6-2 on Radio Songs, stayed 18 weeks atop Digital Song Sales and 41 weeks at No. 1 on Hot Country Songs. “It feels surreal,” Langley told Billboard News, calling the fan response the biggest moment of her career: “man, have they taken ahold of it. It’s wild.”
