Emma Slater Reveals Toenail Injury During DWTS Rehearsal
Emma Slater posted an Instagram video of her detached big toenail from Dancing With the Stars Season 35 rehearsals. She warned followers not to watch if they squirm easy, held up the nail, and said it was her actual toenail, not a fake, which she had just peeled off because it was flip-flopping like a cat door. She said the bare toe was not cute and captioned the post that the injury was painful. Fans replied with sympathy; Alyson Hannigan wrote that it happened to her. Slater, 37 and a pro since 2012 who won Season 24, is paired with Savannah Bananas player Jackson Olson. They opened premiere night with a cha-cha to Wannabe; Olson wore a sparkly yellow baseball uniform and finished with a slide, and the pair scored 15 out of 30. Outlets disagree on the post date: Us Weekly and E! News place it on Thursday, Sept. 17, 2026; Yahoo News places it on Friday, Sept. 18. Giada De Laurentiis, dancing with Slater's partner Alan Bersten, had posted a bruised middle toe before week 1 and scored 16 out of 30 to Venus. Other recent cast injuries include rib problems for Elaine Hendrix and Robert Irwin in Season 34.
