DPS raises El Paso cold-case reward to $6,000
The reward for information leading to an arrest in the 1995 killing of Celia Loya has been raised to $6,000. Loya, who was 30, was found severely beaten in her east El Paso home after she called work to say she would be late. She died from blood loss caused by blunt-force injuries. Investigators found signs of a struggle in the living room. No arrest has been made despite interviews, leads and evidence reviews. The El Paso Police Department and Texas Rangers are seeking information about Loya's activities before her death or suspicious activity near her home that morning. The reward stands until the next featured Texas Rangers cold case is announced. Tips can be submitted through Crime Stoppers or a designated online form. CONTESTED: none found.
