Homecomings Draw Alumni Back to Alabama A&M, SEMO and Michigan State

Homecoming and game-day tailgates brought students, alumni, families and local residents together at Alabama A&M, SEMO and Michigan State. At Alabama A&M, alumni described returning to celebrate the culture and friendships that shaped them, while students said alumni pride and welcoming tailgates helped make campus feel like home. The Grambling State game’s tailgate was a major draw for Bulldogs from multiple generations. SEMO’s parade and tailgate likewise drew students, businesses and Cape Girardeau residents, with attendees describing the event as a source of community connection. At Michigan State, weekly tailgates—from family-hosted meals to gatherings with hometown friends—help fans maintain traditions and strengthen relationships.
