College Football Stars Exit Games With Injuries

Kansas State quarterback Avery Johnson briefly left the Wildcats’ game against Kansas after stumbling and falling at the end of a 59-yard run on the opening drive. Backup Jacob Knuth entered, and K-State scored a touchdown on the next play. Johnson remained on the turf for several minutes, prompting concern, but later said he had only had the wind knocked out of him; he also joked that he was embarrassed to have tripped short of the end zone.
