College basketball players earn preseason conference honors

Virginia guard Kymora Johnson and Georgia Tech guard Talayah Walker were named to the 2026-27 Preseason All-ACC Team, while Clemson freshman forward Kimora Fields earned a spot on the Preseason All-Freshman Team. Johnson, who averaged 19.5 points and 5.9 assists last season and led Virginia to the NCAA Sweet Sixteen, received the team’s third-most votes. Walker made the preseason team after earning All-ACC First Team honors following a career year at Georgia Tech. In the conference’s preseason poll, Virginia was picked sixth, Clemson ninth and Georgia Tech 12th.
