CPSC recalls nearly 200,000 JKMAX blankets and pads after 53 injuries
CPSC on Thursday, Sept. 17, 2026, announced a recall of JKMAX heated blankets and heating pads after 53 burn injuries were reported. The agency said it received 577 reports of the products smoking, melting or burning. The items sold on Amazon from September 2022 through July 2026. JKMAX is offering full refunds. Covered models include JKMAX-002, JKMAX-7284B, JKMAX-6284B, JKMAX-10090B and JKMAX-8490B. They come in blue, gray, brown and red machine-washable polyester with a detachable white remote that shows the model number; the number also appears on packaging. The importer is Jiande Pengshuai Trading Co. Ltd. of China. The CPSC recall number is 26-778. Listed contacts include JkmaxRecall@outlook.com and jkmaxrecall.com. Contested: Unit counts vary across outlets. Some use about 195,000; USA TODAY cites both 198,000 and 195,000; others say nearly 200,000.
