Buffer ETF Short Interest Swings Sharply in September

Short interest fell sharply in September across four ETFs: AllianzIM U.S. Equity Buffer10 Jul (JULT) declined 99.3%, Corgi INTC 2x Daily (INT) 97.4%, FT Vest U.S. Equity Moderate Buffer (GAUG) 96.9%, and Innovator U.S. Small Cap Power Buffer (KJAN) 97.5%, based on figures for Sept. 15 compared with Aug. 31. In contrast, short interest in FT Vest U.S. Equity Deep Buffer ETF – October (DOCT) surged 812.8% to 31,190 shares, equivalent to about 5.8 days of average trading volume. The reports show sharply divergent changes in short positioning across these ETFs, with most recording steep declines and DOCT a substantial increase.
